Amazon Fire Phone vs LG L Bello

Amazon Fire Phone vs LG L Bello

The L Bello is one of the newest smartphones released by LG targeting the younger generation of consumers, but compared to Amazon’s Fire Phone, it fails to impress in these sections: screen resolution, hardware performance and camera. Plus, the Amazon device allows you to contact the tech support in case you encounter some problems with your phone and need assistance.

Displays, designs and sizes

The beautiful LG L Bello was design for the teens, being a mid-range smartphone with a large display of 5inches (IPS LCD) supporting a resolution of 480x854pixels and 196ppi. Its look reminds us of another LG phone, the G2, which has the volume and power button below the rear camera. This phone measures 138.2×70.6×10.7mm, but we don’t have any information regarding its weight.

The Amazon Fire Phone is a little bit more impressive. Although it has a smaller screen of 4.7inches (IPS LCD), it supports a higher resolution of 720x1280pixels with 312ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects both the front and the back, and there some functions worth mentioning: the hands-free scrolling system wide, swivel, auto-scroll and peek. The phone is narrower, measuring 66.5inches, it’s 139.2m tall and 8.9mm thick, and it weights 160grams.

Hardware and OS

The L Bello runs on Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) with 1GB of Ram and hosts an internal memory of 8GB which supports expansion with a TBC card. The device is powered by a decent quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz.

The Fire Phone uses a combination of quad core 2.2GHz Krait 400 processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and an Adreno 330 GPU, coupled with 2GB of RAM, and has two variants of internal memories of 32 and 64GB, which can’t be expanded. This phone runs on an Android based operating system named Amazon Fire OS v3.5 (upgradable to v.3.5.1), with 3D Dynamic Perspective UI, which is based on four front cameras.

Cameras

Speaking of cameras, you’re probably curious which phone takes the best photos. In our opinion, the 13MP back camera on the Fire Phone does a great job, being helped by features such as autofocus, LED flash, optical image stabilization, HDR and geo tagging. Even the front camera is more advanced on this phone, having a sensor of 2.1MP.

The LG L Bello comes with an 8MP back camera with LED flash, autofocus, face detection, autofocus and geo tagging, and for video calling, it provides a poor 1MP front camera.

Batteries

Finally, the L Bello has an advantage over its rival, being equipped with a bigger battery of 2540 mAh, which is user replaceable. The Fire Phone has a non-removable Li-Ion 2400mAh battery which allows up to 22hours of talktime.

Prices

The LG L Bello is expected to come at a price of 287 dollars, while the Amazon Fire Phone costs only 99 cents with a two-year contract through AT&T.
